NE student Irma Villalobos will compete in the all-district art competition.
The TCC Student Art Competition will be held in November and host student artwork from all campuses.
“ I love painting my environment. It makes my work more meaningful to me,” Villalobos said. “It allows me the opportunity to examine my environment in greater detail and appreciate its beauty. ”
Villalobos’ artwork, XL Cheese and Sausage, features a pizza deliveryman from a local pizza place.
“ I purposefully chose a bright color palette that would reflect happiness to the overall painting,” she said. “I am not so interested in recreating every detail in real-life colors. ”
Deadline for entries is Oct. 1.
