NW dance contest gives students creative freedom

NW Campus will host its own version of So You Think You Can Dance? April 30.

Can You Dance? invited TCC students, faculty and staff to enter their best dance routines for a chance to win various prizes.

NW dance associate professor Lacreacia Sanders said students will also receive constructive feedback from guest judges.

“The great part of this event is that students receive immediate verbal feedback on their own work,” she said. “It gives them a chance to choreograph and perform using their own concepts and music choices.”

Sanders said it’s an ideal opportunity to show off personal style and talent.

“In the end, it’s always a fun and energetic atmosphere,” she said.

Can You Dance? will be 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in WHPE 1103.

The top three pieces will perform in the informal dance concert at 1 p.m. May 2 in the NW theater.
