TR ball proceeds to help homeless

The Trinity River Education Equality club will host a masquerade ball 7-11 p.m. April 27 in the Action Suite (TRTR 4202).

“I’m extremely excited that this may possibly become a tradition with TREE,” said Gail Lockwood, TREE president.

Last year, the club put together a function that raised money for the Samaritan House and AIDS Outreach of Fort Worth. The Second Chance prom went well enough to try another function like it, Lockwood said.

This year, the masquerade ball will raise money for Ricky Sparkles Homeless Youth Outreach.

“We voted on this one because 65 percent of most homeless youth is LGBT,” Lockwood said. “Yes, homeless because of their orientation.”

Students can purchase tickets now at $15 for singles and $25 for couples. At the door, prices will go up to $20 for singles and $30 for couples.
