NE Campus’ health services and the National Bone Marrow Program will host Be The Match, a volunteer program for a bone marrow registry for transplants. To join the drive, individuals can register 9 a.m.-1 p.m. outside the Student Center during the International Festival. Donors need to be between 18 and 44 and pass health guidelines. Donations of $10 can be made by texting “Match 018” to 50555. Every $100 raised helps add another member to the registry. SE Campus health services and Carter BloodCare will host a blood drive 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the North Ballroom. Students can also register with the National Bone Marrow Registry to be a bone marrow donor. To donate blood, students must weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID. The SGA Town Hall for Students will be on South Campus 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the SSTU Forum Room. The town hall is meant to increase student involvement in the South Campus Student Government Association and inform the student body about what it can do for the students. The SE library and humanities department present University of Texas at Arlington history associate professor Christopher Morris 1-2:30 p.m. in the Silent Reading Room of the library. Based on his new book The Big Muddy: An Environmental History of the Mississippi and Its Peoples from Hernando de Soto to Hurricane Katrina, Morris will discuss how human intervention has impacted the ecology of the lower Mississippi Valley and what changes could be made to reinvigorate the environment. The Tarrant County Mental Health Mental Retardation will provide free HIV testing on TR Campus 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 24 and 4-8 p.m. April 25 in the health services office (TREF 1312). No registration is required. If students schedule a follow-up appointment 30 days after the test, they are eligible to receive an incentive worth $30. Focus on Finals week will give TR students a chance to study for finals in peace and silence with a snack and ambience. Additional study spaces will be set up for students in the East Fork Gallery and in the East Fork third-floor study area. The Riverfront Café will extend its hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The study areas will be manned with snacks until 8 each evening.
