Students can learn how to Sail to Success during an open house 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the NE Campus writing center in NACB 1114.

“This is kind of a meeting for students to come find out exactly what kind of resources they have to help them and get through college,” learning lab manager Jared Landin said.

The health science learning center, the library, the writing center, the language acquisition center, the skills center, the SOS center, the computer learning center and the math lab will all have booths at the open house to answer students’ questions.

“Students will be able to go to each booth and talk to them, find out what kind of tutors will be available to them,” Landin said.

The open house will begin with breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by a video presentation at 11 and lunch at noon.

“We’ve participated in the fairs that student activities offers, but we thought it would be good to have one here so people could come,” instructional associate Elizabeth Parrish said. “If students are actually in the room, they are more likely to remember and come back.”
