Gov. Rick Perry and state Sen. Wendy Davis will be on South Campus Oct. 20 at the Jenkins Garrett Library to help promote a statewide project called Generation TX.
The community movement is based on the belief that every student — no matter the circumstance — can strive for higher education beyond high school. Perry and Davis, along with organization representatives, will pair with TCC to launch Generation TX’s website, www.GENTX.org.
The event starts at 3 p.m. with Perry due to appear at 3:30. Representatives will walk through the website, setting up profiles to help prepare students for the path to college.
Those interested are asked to RSVP to Telea Stafford, Fort Worth outreach director for Generation Texas, at Telea@gentx.org or 214-886-2775.
