NW Campus will host Mosaic in Motion, a dance production presented by the Mosaic Dance Project, a touring company of advanced students, and showcasing an evening of eclectic works choreographed by dance faculty members.
The event is 7:30-9 p.m. Oct. 22 in the WTLO Theatre Northwest.
Admission is $5 for general admission, $1 for TCC students with a campus ID and free for TCC faculty and staff.
Company A members of the Mosaic Dance Project will choreograph and perform solo pieces. Company A dance student Cemmone Eugene will perform a solo titled “Woman.”
In her second year in the Mosaic Dance Project, Eugene is one of five dance students chosen for a leadership position in Company A.
Included in the event will be the Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School dance team.
During a special day for Diamond Hill students, members of the Dance Project instruct a full day of workshops and produce a behind-the-scenes dance rehearsal Oct. 21.
They will also have a question-and-answer session with the high school students, which are the production’s target audience.
The Mosaic Dance Project will involve 14 dance students.
“This is a chance for NW to showcase the touring company featuring the more advanced dancers,” said Lacreacia Sanders, a dance associate professor.
This concert of dance is in its fourth year of performance, and the majority of the works are brand new for the semester. No faculty members will perform in this program.
“It’s all about the students,” Sanders said.
