TR week helps out transfer students

The TR Campus invites students from all campuses to attend Transfer Connections Week Nov. 1-5 providing students opportunities to learn about the university transfer process.

Part of the process includes declaring a major, planning a degree and figuring out which career a student wants to enter.

The Transfer Workshop kicks off the week noon-1 p.m. Nov. 1 in TRTR 3102 by helping students figure out what comes after college.

The Career Exploration workshop has two parts — Career Assessment 12:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. Nov. 1 and 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. Nov. 2 in TREF 2105 and Assessment Results and Interpretation noon or 2 p.m. Nov. 5 in TRTR 3102.

Students can stop by from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 3 in the TRTR Main Street to participate in Career Jeopardy, where students will learn about careers and professions and play for prizes.

Students can take advantage of one-on-one advising at College Signing Days 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4 in TRTR 1408M.

Twenty colleges and universities from Texas will host 30-minute sessions where students can ask questions at the University Information Sessions 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 2-4 in TREF 1501C.

Students need to preregister for Transfer and Career Exploration workshops at www.tccd.volunteerhub.com.

Event organizers said that if students attend at least four events during the week, they can become eligible for the grand prize of a bookstore gift card.

Students can pick up the grand prize entry form in the advising and counseling center, TRTR 1408M.

Preregistration is not required for the last three events.
