NW Campus will hold its first job fair of the semester 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 17-18 in the WSTU lobby.

Tracey Williams, NW coordinator of career and employment services, said a two-day job fair would better reach students with alternating schedules.

“We wanted to give all students a chance to meet with the right employer and vice versa,” she said.

Employers attending the fair include Sam’s Club, Amazon, NW disability support services, Fort Worth ISD’s bilingual teacher assistant program and the Gaylord Texan hotel.

Williams said choosing employers was based around what jobs NW students are seeking. Employers who offer part-time jobs are best for TCC job fairs, she said.

Temp agencies like Axcess, who will attend, give the employer a chance to meet potential employees without obligations to permanently hire, and students can test the waters at a new job without having to dive in when they hire on at the agency, Williams said.

“A lot of employers hire through these agencies,” she said.

Williams said the Fort Worth Omni Hotel would also be at the fair.

For people with a two-year degree, places like the Omni hotel allow employees to work their way high up in the company, and they are interested in hiring TCC students, she said.
