Now-Sept. 29 Tore Terrasi: Experiments in Typography is on display in the Lakeview Gallery on NW Campus (WFAB 1135A). Terrasi, art assistant professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, explores text through the visual elements of typography, design and poetry. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is free and open to the public.

Now-Oct. 5 The NE Campus art department presents Northeast Art Faculty Sampler, including various forms of art — painting, ceramics, photography — by TCC teachers in College Hall (NCAB 1111). Now-Oct. 5 South Campus will host the Sojourn in the Shadowlands exhibit Monday-Thursday by appointment only in the Carillon Gallery located in the Joe B. Rushing Center for Performing Arts. The artist, Michael Roque Collins, created his pieces after visiting Holocaust sites in Germany. The pieces are meant to depict memories of what happened during the Holocaust by using destruction and nature to evoke thoughts in the viewer. Now-Oct. 6 SE Campus will present the Art Faculty Biennial Exhibit 7 a.m.-10 p.m. in Art Corridor II. The collection includes drawings, photographs, video and prints by SE full-time and part-time faculty.

Now-Oct. 14 Ruth Asawa: Organic Meditations at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth displays an artistic point of view of nature through lithographs. Sept. 13-16 Levitt Pavilion in Arlington presents the third week of the Texas Power 2012 Fall Concert Series. Joe King Carrasco and the Crowns perform Sept. 13 with their Tex-Mex Party Weekend road show. Smile Smile is on stage Sept. 14 with songs from its sophomore album Truth On Tape. Local country singer Blaine Gray performs Sept. 15 with hits from all three of his Texas top-chart albums. Delta Rae is on stage Sept. 16 bringing an electrifying alt/pop experience to the stage. Sept. 20 Gary Lynn Floyd is onstage at the Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas for the Sammons Cabaret series. The first concert for the season, the singer and songwriter will perform classic cabaret and Broadway numbers. Sept. 20 The Fort Worth Contemporary Music Fund presents the first Modern Music Festival. The festival includes collaboration from Colombian, Brazilian, American and Argentinian artists, including TCC adjunct piano teacher and artistic director for the Fort Worth Contemporary Music Fund Eduardo Rojas. Now-Sept. 21 The Fifth Sun will be onstage at the Rose Marine Theater in Fort Worth. The story of Oscar Romero, archbishop of El Salvador, is in celebration of the Mayan calendar with special collaboration with the Latino Cultural Center of Dallas. The play includes Mayan and Catholic culture, rituals and history. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
