Hispanic Heritage Month

Now-Oct. 15 The SE library presents a Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit in the library (ESED 1200). The exhibit displays Hispanic history and heritage compiled by assistant professor of Spanish Ivan Miño. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Sept. 19 TR Campus will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Riverfront Café. Dance lessons will be taught, and musical performances and art will be featured. For more information, call student development associate Edward Brassart at 817-515-1192

Sept. 23 Texas State University history chairman Frank de la Teja will present 500 Years of Hispanic Presence in the United States 10-11 a.m. in NSTU 1615A on NE Campus. Sept. 23-Oct. 14 SE Campus presents Lunes Hecho de la Diversión 8 a.m.-5 p.m. every Monday during Hispanic Heritage Month. Student activities will present a Hispanic heritage fact and highlight a fun phrase in Spanish. Prizes will be available for participants who repeat the phrase in Spanish to the student activities office located at ESCT 1201A. For more information, call student activities at 817-515-3595.

Sept. 26 TR Campus will feature Loteria, a Latin-American game of chance, noon–1 p.m. in the Riverfront Café. Prizes will be given to the winners. For more information, call student development associate Edward Brassart at 817-515-1192.
