SE soccer teams gathered for the second week of intramural games April 10.

The games started after a forfeit in the first game between the X-Men and the Panthers, said Ian Ussery, an intramural assistant who supervised Saturday’s games.

“We had to wait until all the teams showed up,” he said. ”We have some very good teams playing this year. Even the referees who do other games think these guys are good.”

The games began with Arlington SE, a free agent team, playing DS. DS scored the first goal. Then Arlington’s Jaime Silva tied the score 1-1, scoring between the goalie’s legs.

The tie didn’t hold as Julio Fernandez scored two goals for DS, helping his team to a 4-3 win.

Cresc Castro, referee for the games, said the match was the best one of the day.

Just For Fun and Lamar played the next game with Just For Fun victorious, 6-0.

The Arlington Colts and the Warriors played next. The Colts dominated by a score of 5-2. During this game, Luis Garcia of the Colts hurt his knee. Ussery said Garcia had been having problems with his knee before the game.

“Nothing is broken because he wouldn’t be standing up right now,” Ussery said after Garcia walked to his teammates.

Garcia returned to the game in the second half.

The fifth game saw Mansfield United facing the Friends and winning 12-5.

The Chill-n-go Pidgins lost to the Red Devils 4-2 in the final game of the day.
