Famed red nose to shine on NE for local children

The NE Campus Theater Workshop will perform the musical Rudolph as part of its 2013 Children’s Outreach.

Based on the lyrics of the famous Christmas song “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” the one-hour show has all original music. The play is for children in the community.

“We are proud of our children’s musical outreach program,” said play director Susan Polster. “It’s our way of bringing a live theatrical performance to local children who may otherwise never be afforded this opportunity.”

The cast will consist of musical theater workshop students. The performance is free and open to faculty, elementary and homeschooled students and their families. Because there is limited seating available for students and faculty, those interested should contact outreach coordinator Julie Gale for ticket information at julie.gale@tccd.edu.

More than 2,500 students in attendance from local elementary schools will attend on-campus performances, and the students will also take the performance on the road to schools in the DFW area.

Performances are scheduled at 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through Nov. 21 in the NFAB Theatre.
