March 8 NW Campus dance faculty and guest companies Phase 2 Dance Ensemble and Muscle Memory Dance Theatre will perform a concert 2-4 p.m. in Theatre Northwest (WTLO 1108). A question-and-answer session will follow the performances along with a reception to meet the artists.March 30-31 New York Rhythms, the NE Campus spring dance performance, begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Now-March 8 Peter Helms Feresten: My Mind Wanders to the South Side of Town is in SE Campus’ Art Corridor II. In a collection of photographs of Fort Worth’s south side, Feresten documented where he lived and the unfamiliar parts of Fort Worth with this unique accumulation of pictures. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
Now-March 9 TR East Fork Gallery presents Jurni Rising, an exhibit composed of paintings, drawings and prints by artist Nicholas Parker. His work deals with a narrative progress and the development of characters, a girl named Jerusala and her guardian/avenger Jurni. The story holds biblical references and Asian graphic influences. Now-March 29 Finalists for TCC’s districtwide art competition are on display in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Cohn Drennan, owner of Cohn Drennan Contemporary art gallery in Dallas, selected the Best in Show and second- and third-place winners. Prizes include cash and scholarships. April 19-21 SE Campus drama students will perform A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The musical drama, celebrating its 50th year, tells the story of a slave who tries to secure his freedom by assisting his master in securing the heart of a girl.
