For those students who have ever wondered if their professors practice what they teach, a new art exhibit on SE Campus should lay those questions to rest.
The Exquisite Corpse showcases the artwork of various SE Campus Fine Arts faculty and staff.
The art show occurs every three or four semesters and includes some collaborative panels that make up a single work, Devon Nowlin, SE instructional assistant, said.
While the number of works in the exhibit is 12, some of them cover an entire wall, making it appear to be many more.
“There are 13 three-piece artworks depicting the figure for a total of 39 2-foot panels,” she said. “It is essentially one artwork in total, which the view can be manipulated by inter-changing the middle and bottom panels of the figures.”
Additional works by faculty and staff, not included in the Exquisite Corpse exhibit, are shown in the alcove.
Featured artists include Sharon Covington, associate professor of art; Brett Dyer, adjunct instructor of art; Angel Fernandez, adjunct instructor of art; Dana Ferrara, associate professor of art; Kyle Garrett, adjunct instructor of art; Chris Goebel, associate professor of art; Elizabeth Hurtado, adjunct instructor of art; Kim Jenkins, adjunct instructor of art; Corey Johnson, adjunct instructor of art; Rafael Molina, associate professor of art, and Nowlin.
The Exquisite Corpse show can be seen in Art Corridor II until April 9, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Admission is free.
