The South Campus African-American Student Organization will present its annual Hoop It Up fundraiser Saturday, April 19.
The entry fee is $35, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to assist with local and natural disasters.
Deadline to register is Wednesday, April 16.
The tournament will be a single elimination tournament, with 5-on-5 teams.
“We’re hoping for 10 teams and are also encouraging faculty and staff to put teams together and compete,” Freddie Sandifer, South Campus academic advisor and director of student organizations, said.
The event is open to both college and high school students.
“We’re working with the community outreach on campus to make it a community event,” he said.
First prize will be a cash prize, and second prize will be T-shirts, Sandifer said.
