Black Tide Light From Above (4 stars)
The Black Tide explodes onto the metal scene with its new LP, Light From Above. This band distinguishes itself with face melting heavy metal guitar work, accompanied with hard rock vocals for an original sound. The source of this sound is even more shocking than the band’s talent; Gabriel Garcia is the lead guitarist and singer for Black Tide. He may be 15, but he has the spirit of a rock god, producing charged riffs that would elicit appreciative nods from the kings of 1980s hair metal.
A mix of Metallica interludes, vocals that scream Buckcherry and Dragonforce harmonies, this is one CD metal fans and just fans of good music will want to add to their collection.
