The 2013 TCC Employees Care annual giving campaign raised a total of $214,922 this year.

“This year’s is $20,000 more than last year, so we just did super,” donor relations officer Liz Sisk said.

Sisk said TCC works with the nonprofit organization United Way to raise funds from TCC faculty and staff who choose to donate to the TCC Foundation, United Way or both.

Roughly 89 percent of the donations will go toward TCC scholarships.

United Way works with schools, businesses and government agencies to raise funds for groups like the Boys and Girls Club of America, the YMCA, the Boy Scouts of America and several volunteer organizations .

This year’s campaign, which spanned the month of October, surpassed the original goal of $180,000.

“Our employees are very generous. They know, collectively, we can make a big impact on our students,” Sisk said.
