Students interested in learning how to prepare for a job fair have two opportunities in April on SE Campus.
The job fair preparation is 9-10 a.m. Monday, April 2, and 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. Darrell Whitsell, career and employment services senior office assistant, will present Job Fairs: Preparation and Presentation hosted by Job Search.
“ Students can be one of the few who leave the event with a solid offer,” he said. “Consider the importance of planning ahead.”
Whitsell said students should attend prepared to take notes on the tips and benefits they will receive from the presentation.
Students will learn the importance of dressing for the occasion, ways to answer and ask questions and the importance of follow up.
Whitsell said he will tell students what they should expect at the upcoming job fair April 25 on SE Campus.
“ Companies participate in job fairs usually for one of two reasons: to fill current positions or to collect resumes for anticipated future openings,” he said.
If students have questions about interviews, resumes or job searches, they can access www.tccd.edu/careerservices to obtain information.
Students can also make an appointment to meet with a member of the career services staff to discuss any questions they may have.
Anyone can access www.collegecentral.com/tccd-se to upload a resume to a shared job database or call 817-515-3592 for information.
