Art:

Now–Feb. 15 NW Campus will host its first visual art exhibition of the year titled Cera (Wax) showcasing the paintings of Roberto Mungia in the Lakeview Gallery. He will be honored at a reception 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Jan. 25. The one-person exhibit of encaustic paintings will include 25-30 of Mungia’s recent works. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

Now-Feb. 17 NE Campus’ Ceramics II class and the NE Campus Association of Potters/Sculptors will sponsor a ceramic exhibition in the J. Ardis Bell Library. Work will range from beginner to advanced. For many students, this will be the first time their work is shown. An artist reception will be in the library at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 23.

Jan. 27-Feb. 28 TR Campus will sponsor a mixed media art exhibition in its East Fork Gallery. Turn of the Sentry by El Paso artist Angel Cabrales is an interactive installation. The gallery is open during normal school hours.

Music:

Jan. 23 Daniel Binelli and Polly Ferman, world-renowned musicians, will perform traditional tango, milonga and contemporary tango in SE Campus’ C.A. Roberson Theatre 10-11:20 a.m. For more information, call assistant professor Ivan Mino at 817-515-3778.

Jan. 25 Ney Rosauro, composer and world-renowned percussionist, will hear and critique student solo pieces during a free percussion master class 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the NE theater (NFAB 1205). Students wishing to perform their pieces for the clinician must register by calling NE music instructor Warren Dewey at 817-223-7653. 

Feb. 4 Alumnus Adam Pratt will perform a preview of his Feb. 18 cello recital at Texas Wesleyan University with Julie Oh on piano at 7:30 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111). For more information, contact NE music associate professor Hsinyi Wang at 817-515-6255.

Dance:

Jan. 24 The NW dance program will host an informational meeting at 2 p.m. in WHPE 1124A for students interested in traveling to Paris with the World Dance course in May. For more information, call dance associate professor Amy Sleigh at 817-515-7174.

Jan. 28 Students and alumni are invited to participate in JAMuary, a two-hour dance jam to kick off the NW dance program’s 15th anniversary 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Dance Studio (WHPE 1103).
