Michael Collins, author of Leander McNelly: Heroic Texas Ranger, or Rider from Hell?, will be the first of five presentations in NW’s History Anonymous Speakers Series Feb. 8.

“So many things in history are anonymous,” said history assistant professor and series creator Robert Little. “This series is a way to shine a light on those lesser-known people who helped shape history.”

The first presentation, Texas, Tried and True, will center around a Texas Rangers theme. The series will continue into April and will cover various topics relating to U.S. history such as the Civil War and Texas oil fields.

The event is open to the public with snacks and refreshments provided. Time will be allotted for a question-and-answer session with the speaker(s) after the presentations. For more information, contact Little at 817-515-7693.
