World Languages will host Discover Language … Discover the World noon-2 p.m. Feb. 19 in the SSTU Living Room on South Campus. Languages from around the world will be showcased through poster boards, a foreign film and presentations.
“We have speakers from the FBI and Fort Worth ISD,” said Spanish assistant professor Linda Roy. “Students from various language groups are also making trifold presentation boards to showcase their native languages.”
Personal Reflections — A Collection of Short Films by Venezuelan director Ivette Diaz will be shown in segments throughout the event.
“The film professor is sharing information on foreign language films and the film classes TCC offers,” Roy said.
This session will give students the opportunity to explore the jobs that will require use of a foreign language. Roy hopes this event triggers an interest in foreign and world languages and prompts students to discover the languages offered at TCC.
