The NW dance club will sponsor Rise and Shine, an April 16 talent show to raise funds for students planning to study abroad in Paris.

The acts aren’t restricted to dance, though. Singing and standup comedy are also welcome.

“There are no restrictions,” dance associate professor Amy Sleigh said of the talent acts. “But [they] should be clean and mature.”

Those interested in performing can register 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the WSTU lobby or email brittany.osborn@my.tccd.edu by April 14. The registration fee is $5 per person. Every campus is invited to participate.

“We’re very excited,” Sleigh said. “We’re hoping for a big turnout because there’s nothing like this.”

Faculty and staff will judge, and the audience will vote for the winners. Winners will receive a title and a prize.

The competition begins at 1 p.m. in WSTU 1303.
