Hispanic Heritage

Now-Oct. 8
The NW Campus Hispanic Heritage Month Photo Contest entries will be due by noon Oct. 8 in WSTU 2811. Photos should feature aspects of Hispanic heritage. Entry forms are available in the student activities office (WSTU 2811).

Now-Oct. 15
The NE Language Institute and student activities are sponsoring a photography exhibit featuring Hispanic countries. The photos by students, faculty and community members are displayed in three study alcoves in the north hallway of the Student Center.

Sept. 19
A panel of local professors will discuss immigration 1-2:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom on SE Campus. University of Texas at Arlington history assistant professor Kenyon Zimmer will participate on the panel as a special guest and discuss immigration history and policy. Joining the panel will be various SE faculty members who will debate the role of illegal immigration and border issues in America. The event will allow students and others who are interested to learn more about immigration.

Oct. 10
Abrazando al Exito (Embracing Success) will be 6-9 p.m. on the Waterfall Courtyard outside WTLO on NW Campus. The event is held to bring students together from every campus for an evening filled with food, ballet folklorico, music and speakers to help motivate students to embrace success. Cost is free.
