Science mystery solved

By Sabrina Carrington/reporter

Those who have ever had trouble in biology may not have unlocked the mystery of becoming a success in sciences.

Dr. Janice Yoder Smith has done all the work and is willing to share all her classified information in Shhh! Secrets to Making a Good Grade in a Science Class at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, and Wednesday, Sept. 12, in WCTS 1129B on NW Campus.

Smith, professor of biology, will reveal her tips and strategies for preparing for a science course and determining the best class for which major and will offer more techniques to bring out a student’s inner scientist. Smith is prepared to expose how science classes are much easier if students know a few tricks before they even step foot inside the class.

The presentation is part of Student Success Days, sponsored by the Student Success Committee, a free two-day event designed to promote academic success among new, as well as, returning students.

Events, activities and workshops will introduce students to the culture, services and resources available to them and offer opportunities for students to learn skills and gain knowledge that will help them be successful in their college career. Registration is free in the WSTU Commons 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30-6 p.m.

Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 11-12.
