Students will experience an evening of Elegance in Learning at this year’s 30th anniversary banquet honoring the Women in New Roles program.
The banquet is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at with a reception at 6:15 p.m. in the NSTU Center Corner on NE Campus.
Dr. Tahita Fulkerson, president of the new downtown campus and featured speaker, will talk about elegance in learning and its meaning to her.
“ I hope to explain how learning can be called elegant and especially to focus on the elegance of the Women in New Roles program, its curriculum, and its students,” she said.
Fulkerson has been with TCC for 26 years. She first began working on the South Campus as a part-time English teacher. It was there she met Emily Lunday, founder of the WINR program.
She has worked on three of the four campuses, is currently at the district office and will move to the new downtown campus, scheduled to open in 2010.
Fulkerson won the TCC Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award in 1990.
The banquet will include dinner, entertainment, exhibits and a silent auction. Tickets are $10. This event is open to TCC students, faculty, staff and administration and to the public.
