The American Cancer Society is teaming up with golf courses across the southern United States to raise money for the fight against cancer.

To raise money, the ACS is selling golf passes for $35. These passes can be used at participating courses for free or discounted greens fees, depending on the course.

Passes last through 2008 and for more than 850 rounds of golf.

Some of the more than 270 Texas courses participating include Iron Horse Golf Course, Grapevine Golf Course, Granbury Golf Course and Sunset Golf Course. Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma also have participating courses.

According to its Web site, the ACS is a voluntary health organization committed to eradicating cancer through research, education and service.

Passes can be ordered by phone at 1-800-227-2345 or online at www.golfpass4cancer.org. More information, including a full list of the participating golf courses, can also be found on the Web site.
