New IT program offers six classes

GAME 1304 Level Design is a three-hour course introducing the concepts and tools used to create games and simulation.

GAME 1403 Introduction to Game Design and Development is a four-hour course covering electronic game development and careers in game development. It offers an overview of the history and philosophy of games, the production process and current issues and practices in the industry.

GAME 1306 Concept Design and Evolution of Electronic Games is a three-hour class that builds on topics from Level Design. This course provides an introduction to game and simulation development along with the creation of design documents. Students also examine the cultural and the technological history of electronic games.

GAME 1443 Graphics and Simulation Programming I, a four-hour course, requires prior knowledge of C++ language. Students begin working with applications in vectors, graphics and sound.

GAME 1459 Graphics and Simulation Programming II, also a four-hour course, is a continuation of 1443. Students use 2-D design and development with mathematical elements and begin the basics of 3-D graphics.

GAME 2402 Mathematical Applications for Game Development presents the applications of science and math in game and simulation programming. This class incorporates the use of vector operations, kinematics, matrix and Newtonian principles.
