Students get to see through Native eyes in new presentation

NE Campus will hold an event to give attendees a better understanding of the history of Native Americans through a native perspective at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

The presentation will take place in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) and be conducted by academic adviser Marjeanna Burge.

The event is sponsored by student activities and the Circle of Nations.

“The history of the indigenous people of the United States is very unfamiliar to many people,” said Amity Womelsdorff, student development associate and organizer of the event.

“It is said, ‘Knowledge is power,’ so you are invited to hear a crash course on the history and how it relates to present-day Native people and some issues that are important for Native Americans and tribal nations in this country today.”
