Russell Lee Brown received a $300 scholarship for finishing first place in TCC Connect’s “What Success Means to Me” essay competition as part of National Distance Learning Week. Jazmyn Johnson received a $200 scholarship for second, and Amy Moore received a $100 scholarship for third.
Now-Dec. 5 NW student development services is hosting a community service donation drive benefiting Cook Children’s Hospital. Donations accepted include coloring books, paintbrushes, watercolors, children’s DVDs, markers and baby rattles. Cardboard donation boxes can be found across campus.

Instructors will present announcements from spring’s The Love Conference, and the winner of the NW Speech Contest will present the winning speech.

Jan. 12-Feb. 19 The Carrier Library on SE Campus will host the Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863 and the March on Washington, 1963 Smithsonian exhibit all day in ESED 1200. The traveling exhibit depicts the relationships between two leaders’ movements for equal rights. An opening reception is scheduled 4-6 p.m. Jan. 15 in ESED 1200.
