A former SE biology adjunct instructor was charged over winter break with sexual assault of a child and having an inappropriate relationship between educator and student with a former student at Duncanville High School.
Elizabeth Ann Ramsey, 26, was arrested and charged Jan. 2 and is currently awaiting a trial date in Dallas.
SE math, science, engineering and HPE divisional dean Thomas Awtry was contacted but said he had no comment on Ramsey and her employment status.
This all began when the minor, now 17 years old, revealed to Child Protective Services that he had a sexual relationship with a former teacher, according to the Duncanville police arrest affidavit.
Once Duncanville police received the statement from CPS, it launched an in-depth investigation.
The student, who was 15 at the time of the first encounter, revealed that the inappropriate relationship stretched a little over a year.
He cited the first encounter between them at school during a free period Ramsey had. They’d previously talked and texted, but he said things became a little more serious that day during her free period.
The student listed a few venues where they had sexual relations, including Ramsey’s mother’s house, Ramsey’s Fort Worth home and a wooded area behind a church, the affidavit said.
Police obtained text messages revealing further intimate messages, including a nude photo of Ramsey and conversations spanning sex, THC-infused brownies and cookies and the plans of meeting up on multiple occasions.
In September 2013, when Ramsey texted with the student, the student referred to the last encounter they had that almost resulted in the two being caught having sex by Ramsey’s husband. Instead, she said she wouldn’t meet him again because “last time was too scary.”
