NW to feature series of workshops about elements of relationships for students

By Hope Sandusky/nw news editor

The NW advising and counseling department will host Love is Respect noon-1 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Michael Saenz Conference Center (WACB 1123).

NW counselor Lisa Allison will speak as part of the advising and counseling health and wellness workshops.

“I will go over the key elements of healthy and unhealthy relationships,” she said. “This includes healthy boundaries to have, things to boost the relationship and key characteristics to look for in a partner that will promote a healthy relationship.”

The presentation’s goal is promoting how to create and maintain healthy relationships, Allison said.

“Communication is key to building up a healthy relationship,” she said. “The first step is to make sure both individuals in the relationship want and expect the same things in order to create a trusting, lasting relationship.”

The presentation is a preview for the NW advising and counseling department’s Love Conference in April.
