Feb. 25 NW health services will present Navigating the Nutrition Maze to Achieve Health noon-1 p.m. in WHPE 1105. Featuring SE dietetic technician program director and coordinator Christina Liew-Newville, the event will teach students how to use food labels to make healthier choices, how to enhance nutrient intake with meal modifications and how to decrease risk for chronic diseases through nutrition.

Feb. 25 The NW Transfer Center will hold a workshop 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Michael Saenz Conference Center (WACB 1123) for students to find out what credits they have achieved through TCC will transfer to a university. Lunch will be provided.

Feb. 25, 26 TR health services will provide free, confidential HIV testing for students 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 25 and 2-5 p.m. Feb. 26 in TREF 1312A. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are accepted. Students should allow 30-45 minutes for a testing session. Feb. 26 Safe Space Training will take place 9 a.m.-noon in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. The Safe Space program is designed to raise awareness on the dynamics of gender, sexual orientation and identity. The program is also designed to help make college a safer and more supportive environment for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions. Feb. 26 Current or prospective students can learn about eLearning and weekend college opportunities 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on TRTR Main Street. TCC Connect representatives will answer questions. Students can learn more about completing a degree online, attending weekend college or receiving dual credit while finishing high school. Feb. 26 Student Success Seminar: What is College All About? will be presented 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615) on NE Campus. History instructor Andy Hollinger will provide a framework that students can use to formulate objectives for their own collegiate career and provide the basis for their expectations about both the experience and results achieved. Feb. 26 South will host Brand U – Fashion Wear 2-3:30 p.m. in the dining hall (SSTU 1114). The event will give advice on how to dress in and out of the classroom to leave a positive impression in many aspects of life. Feb. 26 Managing Credit: Priorities and Pitfalls will be presented 2:30-3:30 p.m. in NBSS 1103 on NE Campus. The TG Financial Literacy Program mini-module will cover the ways credit affects many areas of life, points people need to know about their credit reports and credit scores and some standard guidelines for keeping credit in good shape, including how to avoid identity theft. Feb. 27 Jim Bolen Mathematics Competition: Round 2 will be 1:30-3 p.m. on all campuses. Students from all campuses can participate to earn cash prizes and scholarships. Feb. 27 TR students, faculty and staff can attend the 26th Leadership eXperience Summit: Leadership and Culture 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Action Suite A. Assistant vice president of youth baseball and community outreach for Texas Rangers baseball club Breon Dennis will speak about his personal experiences and background that got him where he is today. Feb. 28 Today is the deadline for dropping a first session eight-week class for the spring semester.

March 3 South will have a blood drive 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the SSTU patio. Hopeful participants must first fill out a questionnaire and take a finger stick anemia test to see if they are eligible to donate. For more information, call health services at 817-515-4531.

March 4 Getting on Track and Finishing the Race will be held 4-5:30 p.m. in the Galley (NSTU 1506) on NE Campus. This workshop is the first in an ongoing series where students will work to identify their learning styles, receive tips and strategies to improve their GPAs and much more. March 4 The NW counseling department will present Ask About Suicide: To Save a Life 9-10 a.m. in the Michael Saenz Conference Center (WACB 1123). This workshop is designed to train students on how to ask about suicide, where to seek more information and how to get help for someone who might be at risk for suicidal behavior.
