About 150 pieces of student artwork cover the Lakeview Gallery floor to ceiling, fill the pedestals across the floor and extend down the hallway.

The Student Art Show is available for view whenever the NW Campus is open. Janet Chaffee, University of Texas at Arlington adjunct art professor, will judge the show, and ribbons will be given out at noon April 30.

The show includes six categories: painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, design and digital art. The painting and drawing categories drew the most entries, said Christian deLeon, NW art associate professor.

The point of the show is to expose students to the way the art world operates.

“It’s for the betterment of the students and getting them into the real world,” deLeon said.
