“The L. Clifford Davis Legal Association has been a wonderful partner of South Campus,” he said. “It’s always inspiring and motivating to be recognized by the community and faculty for the work you do.”

Jordan said he could have picked out several others who served the community as well for decades, but to be chosen for the award was humbling.

“Something I try to uphold is serving the community. Starting with South Campus and extending to all of TCC, Fort Worth, North Texas, it keeps expanding,” he said. “I try to make sure I am paying forward or giving back. Either way, it’s about being of service to family, the community and country.”

From being the first African-American president of the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling to president of South Campus, Jordan has earned an impressive list of accolades and accomplishments throughout his career. Hiscontinuous effort to assist and lead thousands of people each year proved to be admirable by the legal association, earning him the award.

Jordan leads a campus with 39 buildings, over 12,000 students and 300 faculty and staff. He said it is an honor to have the respect of the students, faculty, staff and community.

“The support is a humbling experience,” he said. “It tells me people within our community are like-minded and are striving for the same thing — providing access to a quality and affordable education.”
