Now-Dec. 10 Claudia Baez presents her artwork Paintings After Proust. Blending art and literature, her work is inspired by French novelist Marcel Proust and a painting by artist Eric Karpeles. Now-Dec. 13 The NW art department will display its newest art exhibition, No Boundaries, featuring works from select NW art students. This year’s featured students are Eunjoo Maxwell, Francisco Olmos, Tippy Phetsamone and Lauren Tomlinson. The exhibition will be on display in Lakeview Gallery and open for students and the public during NW school hours. A public reception will be held in the artists’ honor 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 3 with an artists’ talk at noon in Lakeview Gallery. Dec. 2-4 SE Campus will present a production of Back County Crimes by Lanie Robertson at 7:30 p.m. with 1:30 p.m. matinee showings Dec. 3 and 4 in the C.A. Roberson Theatre (ESEC 1401). The play tells the story of the murderous wrongdoings of a small backwoods town. Tickets are free to TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for seniors and other students and $6 for general admission. Dec. 2-5 NE’s drama program will present Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee in the NFAB auditorium. The play centers on two friends during the 1890s who use the same pseudonym while causing mischief. Tickets are $6 for general admission, $3 for seniors and non-TCC students and free for TCC students, faculty and staff. Dec. 2-6 Theatre Northwest presents Lone Star and Laundry and Bourbon, two plays combined as one comedy by James McClure. Set in Maynard, Texas, in 1974, the stories involve husbands, wives, war, love and honor. The play contains strong language and adult content. Performance times will be 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2-5 and 2 p.m. Dec. 6. Tickets will be $6 for general admission, $3 for seniors and non-TCC students and free for TCC students, faculty and staff.
