To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the NE Campus Jacaranda Ensemble will perform a romantic-themed concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in College Hall (NCAB 1111).

The guitar trio, NE music instructor Pedro Haley, musician Leslie Enlow and Texas Woman’s University instructor Carlo Pezzimenti, will perform classical pieces from Spain and France.

“We have a well-balanced music program that will entertain anybody,” Haley said. “We will be performing music from the 19th and 20th centuries, so there is something for everyone.”

Haley hopes to inspire the audience to have appreciation for classical guitar music.

This is Haley’s second semester at TCC. He started playing the guitar when he was a teenager, completed his undergraduate studies in English but went back to school 12 years later at the age of 30 to study music at the University of North Texas.

Haley’s creative inspiration for his pieces comes from traditional sources.

“Profoundness is what moves most musicians to be communicative to try and elaborate on the power that music has for all of us,” he said.

He invites all students to come with an open mind.
