Now-Feb. 20 The Festival of New Plays, a showcase of students’ original 10-minute plays, will be in the C.A. Roberson Theatre on SE Campus. Times will be 7 p.m. on the 17th, 7 and 8:30 p.m. on the 18th-20th with a special 1:30 p.m. performance on the 19th. Tickets are free for TCC students and faculty, $6 for general admission and $3 for non-TCC students and senior citizens. Now-Feb. 26 NW’s Lakeview Gallery presents Cos N!&&@#$ Can’t Breathe. Artwork from SE art instructional assistant Christopher Blay is featured in this collection, focusing on the black community and its struggle with police officers. Feb. 18 The Sonata Club will host a performance by the Keller High School Choir at 10 a.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. Students and the general public are welcome to attend.

Feb. 18-19 The South Campus theater program begins the year with Madame President? Compiled by students, the performance features vignettes focused on women’s rise to positions of power and the reaction of society around them. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are not required, but no one will be seated late. Tickets are $6 for general admission, $3 for other students and seniors and free for TCC students, faculty and staff. 

Feb. 20 The SE dance program will host a salsa dancing class 10 a.m.-noon in EART 1101. Students will explore the history, cultural influences, styles, musicality, basic footwork patterns and partnering techniques of salsa. For more information, call SE dance professor Brandy M. Feb. 23 NE Campus presents the Texas Camerata: Music from the Baroque Era at 7 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111). The Texas Camerata performs the music of the baroque and classical eras such as Bach and Handel with an emphasis on historical style. March 2-5 The NE Campus theater program will present Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors 7 p.m. March 2-5 with a 2 p.m. matinee on March 5 in the NE Playhouse (NFAB 1205). The play involves two sets of identical twins separated at birth, and upon meeting, suffer the comical consequences of mistaken identity. March 4, 5 The NW drama program will present A Year with Frog and Toad at 7:30 p.m. on the 4th and 2 p.m. on the 5th in Theatre Northwest (WTLO 1108). The musical follows two friends and their adventures through the woodlands and their encounters with other friends.
