Feb. 17 NW’s Bridge Program will host Test Taking 2-3 p.m. in the library (WTLO 3101A). Students can learn techniques for tackling various testing formats like multiple-choice and essay tests.

Feb. 17-18 The NW Bridge Program and Academic Learning Center are presenting Forming a Thesis and Integrating Sources starting at noon in the Writing Lab (WTLO 3411A). Feb. 17-18 SE Campus will hold a UTA University Day and Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fair in the Commons. Feb. 17-20 The Bridge Program and Academic Learning Center on NW will hold Improving Literary Analysis starting at 11 a.m. in the Writing Lab (WTLO 3411A). This workshop will map different strategies to help students differentiate between summary and analysis and provide ways to improve their literary analysis. Feb. 19 The NE Campus math department will offer a series of free workshops to help students prepare for the Jim Bolen Mathematics Competition. The workshops will be held 1-3 p.m. in NTAB 2223. Feb. 20 Students can travel with TR to the University of North Texas to attend its Preview Day 7:45 a.m.-6 p.m. TCC students can tour the campus offices, classrooms and dorms and meet UNT students. Transportation is provided, but space is limited so RSVP soon at the TR Transfer Center (TREF 1503C).

Feb. 23 The NE transfer academy will host Transfer Essentials, part one of three, noon-1:30 p.m. in Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615). The program teaches students in detail the process for transferring to a university as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Feb. 24 NE Campus presents Solving Debt Problems: Strategies and Solutions 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Community Room (NBSS 1103). The program is a financial education module that covers cash flow, balance sheets and symptoms and causes of debt problems. Attending the workshop will satisfy a financial literacy requirement for any academic success plan pertaining to financial aid. Feb. 24 South Campus presents Test Anxiety 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the advising and counseling center (SACT 1429). Feb. 26 TR health services and Nova Family Dental Clinic will host a free dental screening 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on TRTR Main Street. The event is open to TCC students and employees as well as the general public and will teach about good oral hygiene habits and provide new toothbrushes.
