Women’s History Month Calendar

Feb. 27 South Campus will hold its 15th annual Women’s Symposium 8 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in the Living Room (SSTU 1114). The symposium will feature a continental breakfast, an open panel discussion focusing on women in politics and networking opportunities for students. Students must register in the lobby of the Student Center 8-8:55 a.m. to attend. For additional information, call 817-515-4307.

March 1 The South Campus Victim Assistance Program and TCC Police Department present a video on domestic violence 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Texas Room (SSTU). Afterward will be a panel discussion featuring community resources.

March 1-31 South Campus will hold the Women’s History Month exhibit Young Women Makers, Shakers and Movers in the lobby of the Jenkins Garrett Library. It is available during normal business hours.

March 3 Pathways to Excellence will be 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m. in the Ballroom on SE Campus. The presenters will be senior vice president of operations for the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau Mary German, Lane Boots president Justine Lord and Johnson Insurance and Financial investment professional Sheila Johnson. March 10 Women’s History Month: Code Girl film discussion will be 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m. in the SE Campus library (ESED 1200). For more information, call SE English associate professor Pennie Boyett at 817-515-3140.

March 22 The Life and Impact of Julia Scott Reed will be 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m. in the SE Campus library (ESED 1200). UTA associate professor and history chair W. Marvin Dulaney will present the session about Reed, America’s first black female newspaper columnist. For more information, call SE student activities at 817-515-3595.

March 25 Women’s History Month: Stephanie Cole will be 10:40 a.m.-11:35 a.m. in the SE Campus library (ESED 1200).
