Now-April 6 The NE Campus English department is holding its annual spring writing competition through April 6. Winners of each category will be published in the literary journal Under the Clock Tower and awarded a cash prize of $100. Runners-up will be considered for publication. March 9-12 The Academic Learning Center and Bridge Program on NW Campus will present Reading for Research at 2 p.m. in the writing lab (WTLO 3411A). March 9 TR Campus continues its celebration of National Craft Month with a Make & Take Session: Knitting noon-2 p.m. in the Fulkerson Library reading area. Students can make a coffee cozy or headband to keep. The library will provide necessary supplies, cookies and coffee.

March 9 The NE Campus French Club in collaboration with student activities will host an on-campus screening of the French film Populaire beginning at 7 p.m. in the NSTU Galley. The film follows an insurance agent and his new secretary as they become embroiled in romance and competition while training for a speed-typing competition. Admission is $5 per person and $6 per couple with popcorn and drink included in the price.

March 9 NW’s Bridge Program will hold Defining Who You Are 12:30-2 p.m. in WACB 1123. This seminar will touch on topics to aid students in discovering who they are, what their purpose is and what their goals are.

March 9 Tackling Test Anxiety workshop will be 12:50-2:10 p.m. in the SE Campus library classroom (ESED 1212). Students will learn tactics to reduce test anxiety.

March 9 NW’s Transfer Academy and Bridge Program will team up to bring students Financial Aid and Scholarships for University 12:30-1:30 p.m. in WSTU 1305. Students can talk with area university representatives in a panel setting.

March 9 Students and employees can learn Financial Literacy during a workshop 2-3 p.m. in the Idea Store on TR Campus. The session covers expenses and incomes students should have in their spending plans.

March 10 TCC police training coordinator Dwane Kelley will teach a personal safety and self-defense training workshop 12:30-2 p.m. on NE Campus in the Community Room (NBSS 1103). The course teaches basic martial arts techniques to prepare students for the possibility of being attacked. March 12 SE Campus concludes its basketball league. The first of two semifinal games will start at 9 a.m. with the second beginning at 9:45 a.m. The winner of the two games will face off in the championship game at 10:45 a.m. in the SE gym.
