Students who are stressed or tired may want to attend Blues and Butterflies March 29 on SE Campus.

Many college students have experienced a mental health crisis while in college, SE counselor Carisa-Bustillos Givens said. She will address what causes college students to feel anxious and stressful and explain how to manage those problems.

“It is not uncommon to feel sad, irritated or less energetic during different seasons of the year or different seasons of life,” she said. “For some students, these are manageable ups and downs that come with school, work, relationships or the ability to enjoy life.”

Givens will offer some advices to help students.

“The good news is that action can be taken to reduce the intensity of the rise-and-fall symptoms,” she said. “This interactive workshop will help in distinguishing depression from the blues and anxiety from ‘the butterflies’ while teaching useful, everyday coping techniques.”

The Blues and Butterflies presentation will be 10-11 a.m. in the Ballroom on SE Campus.
