Now-April 29 The Fort Worth Community Arts Center in Fort Worth displays pieces from TCC’s biennial NE art faculty and staff show. The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, call 817-515-6063.
Now-May 5 The NW Campus Lakeview Gallery will display artwork created by NW fine arts students in a juried art exhibition. NW faculty voted on over 90 submissions to present the best of its students’ artwork. This show includes work from students enrolled in ceramics, design, digital art, drawing, painting and sculpture. The Lakeview Gallery (WFAB 1135) is open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. A closing reception and award ceremony will be noon-2 p.m. May 5.
Now-May 12 NW’s art program presents Under the Radar: Student Invitational Juried Exhibition. The exhibit in the WFAB Gallery will include 2-D and 3-D pieces by students. April 27-30 NE drama presents Chicago at 7 p.m. April 27-30 with an additional 2 p.m. matinee April 30 in the theater (NFAB 1205). Set during the Prohibition era, the musical is a satire centered on the corruption of the criminal justice system and the popularity of celebrity criminals at the time. The show is free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for non-TCC students and seniors and $6 for the general public. April 27-May 1 NW drama students will perform Reasons to Be Pretty by Neil LaBute at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee May 1 in Theatre Northwest (WTLO 1108). The romantic comedy/drama deals with vanity and the reasons it is such a human quality in this society. April 30 Nutrition for Movers: Eating for Energy will be at 10 a.m. in the SE dance studio (EART 1101). Holistic health coach Joanie Johnson will teach students the benefits of eating healthy while balancing busy schedules.
May 2-6 NE Campus will exhibit works from students in the new Associate of Arts visual art program in College Hall (NCAB 1111).
