The fall intramural sports season on South Campus is off to a racing start.
The season kicked into gear Sept. 15 with a Mario Kart video game tournament and continues with flag football games Tuesdays and Thursdays through Sept. 30. This season, two new events will be introduced to the event roster: Ultimate Frisbee and disc golf. Also, events in table tennis, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball and trivia challenge will take place this fall.
The intramural events, co-sponsored by student activities and the physical education department, engage TCC students on many levels. Organizers J.T. Henderson and Martin Molina, adjunct art instructor, are working with South clubs and organizations to design the events this fall.
Henderson said the Gaming Club voted on the video game played in the tournament and throughout the coming months student organizations will continue to be closely involved in planning these activities. He and his fellow organizer welcome individual input and encourage students to come by the Student Activity Center and “pitch ideas” on events for the upcoming spring semester.
All intramural events this fall are free, and all necessary sporting equipment will be provided on the day of the activity. All participants must bring their physical TCC ID cards to the event.
