TCC alumni visit to share success stories with South

By Hannah Lathen

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, South students can hear success stories from the TCC community at Success of Nuestra Gente Oct. 13.

Student development associate Ana Garcia says the event will give students the chance to learn lessons about reaching success given from current and past students as well as faculty, staff and community leaders.

“They’ll talk about their struggles, the things that they went through and their obstacles in obtaining an education in hopes that it’ll encourage students, motivate them and inspire them to continue with their education,” she said.

Garcia says this event will show students that success is in reach no matter what they are going through.

“They need to hear their stories of success so they know what to look forward to,” she said. “It’s important for our students to hear those things and to see how someone was able to become successful even though they had different struggles.”

Student activities and Latin American Student Organization joined to plan Success of Nuestra Gente.

It runs 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Living Room (SSTU 2105). Food will be served.
