South film festival to feature bloody fun with horror movies

The clock is ticking for students who want to enter Horror Film Festival 2016.

“Students showed a real interest since the first year we started, and now we are on our fourth year,” organizer and speech instructor Molly Floyd said.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the SETC building on South Campus. Interested students should submit original horror or zombie movies to Floyd by Oct. 25.

Films are not rated but cannot contain sexual content. Entries are not subject to time limits. Short films will be shown and judged that evening.

Some students like Barret Arnold from NE Campus are still working on their entries.

“Last year, we submitted The Final Minute and Yard Work by Jesse Franks,” Arnold said. “This is about the third year we would submit a short film. It’s fun and is a good way to meet faculty and students in the film industry.”

The price is $2 to attend the festival. Proceeds go toward TCC student scholarships.
