College hosts tornado drill for first responders

By Jamil Oakford

NW Campus hosted a tornado simulation for emergency personnel in the area Nov. 12.

Many of the first responders used the training as a way to evaluate and reassess their existing plans when tornadoes hit. The training included volunteers who portrayed victims.

A lot of the simulations dealt with the aftermath of tornadoes and how to search through debris left behind.

In NW’s Fire Service Training Center, the simulated city contained streets, residential homes, an apartment complex and high-rises.
