People looking for a raunchy holiday movie that defies the normal warm and fuzzy Christmas movie stereotype will find it in Bad Santa 2

While it’s a great movie for adults to enjoy, it would be wildly inappropriate for children or people with delicate sensibilities. It definitely earned its R rating with various sex scenes, crude humor and fist-fighting Santas.

The plot follows alcoholic, self-loathing Santa impersonator Willie Soke (Billy Bob Thorton) as he attempts another heist alongside his lousy excuse for a mother (Kathy Bates) and his sidekick Marcus (Tony Cox) from the first movie.

The trio has a chemistry on screen that keeps the jokes rolling seamlessly and keeps the audience in stitches. The jokes range from mildly inappropriate to borderline insulting, but there weren’t many that failed to make the theater audience erupt in laughter.

Thurman Merman (Brett Kelly) makes another appearance for this sequel. His innocence rivals that of Buddy from Elf, and he often serves as the moral tether that reminds Soke of his humanity.

The relationship between the two, while dysfunctional, is the vehicle for the holiday message of family and acceptance.
