A world of culture takes over SE Posted on December 6, 2016February 1, 2017 by Collegian Admin Students who participated in the event take selfies while wearing traditional African dashikis, loose colorful shirts or tunics that originated in west Africa. The event was hosted by the SE Campus African Culture Club. SE student Aleena Ahmer models a traditional Pakistani garment. SE electrician Rick Yoes walks the runway wearing a Scottish kilt. SE Cultural Day features a dance contest, fashion show, live music and foods from different countries and ethnicities. Students like the one above competed in the dance contest with the winner receiving a $500 award. The Cultural Day celebration happened Dec. 2 in the SE North Ballroom.
