Feb. 9 Richard Selcer will discuss his book, A History of Fort Worth in Black & White: 165 Years of African-American Life. Selcer has taught and written history for 40 years both internationally and throughout the DFW metroplex. The event will be held 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the TR Tahita Fulkerson Library (TREF 2105).

Feb. 10 South Campus will host the 11th annual Ariel Hunter-Chriss African American Professionals Conference 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Student Center. Feb. 17 TR Campus will sponsor a Historic Fort Worth Bus Tour 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., which will visit various locations central to the African-American experience in Fort Worth’s past. Feb. 23 A Blue Texas book discussion will occur noon-1 p.m. in the TR Tahita Fulkerson Library (TREF 2105). Author Max Krochmal chronicles the past struggles for marginalized minorities who came together to seek empowerment through demands for integration, economic justice and other social justice issues central to the civil rights movement.
